About Us

Kenwyn Veterinary Centre is located on Kenwyn Hill, on the outskirts of Truro, and covers most of the mid Cornwall area, from St Austell to Helston and from St Mawes to Porthtowan. The practice was established in 1991 from Highertown Vets by Patrick Hunt, and has taken on the large animal work from other practices since. We have a team of dedicated farm and equine veterinary surgeons all of whom have additional areas of interest and have strong ties with the farm and equine community.

Whilst the majority of our work is carried out on farm or at stables, we have on site hospitalisation and surgical facilities for the more complex investigations and treatments, and the ability to examine and treat animals at the clinic rather than visit should it be preferred.

Kenwyn Veterinary Centre is a RCVS accredited practice and we have built up a very good reputation for delivering a first class service. We work with number of allied professionals and specialists both locally and nationally to provide a complete care package tailored to the individual needs of every client.

We supply Prescription Only Medicines - Veterinary (POM-V) products from our practice for clients or we can provide written prescriptions so that clients can obtain these medicines from other veterinary surgeons or pharmacies. We only prescribe POM-Vs for animals under our care, so that we can ensure all animals are being treated with the best product to suit their individual needs.

All the staff at Kenwyn Vets have personal experience of the many of the problems and pitfalls that you may have to deal with on a first hand basis, when dealing with animals, and are committed to working for the best outcome possible.

We have a support team of dedicated nurses and reception staff to deal with your enquiry and orders quickly, efficiently and to help try to diagnose any problems and then, if needed, to dispatch a vet to you as quickly as possible.
